BHADARWAH, Sept 16: Campaigning for the BJP candidate from Doda East, Gajay Singh Rana, senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Gulam Ali Khatana launched a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC), Congress, and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for their role in promoting a culture of violence that has left thousands of widows and orphans in Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing massive rallies from Bhadarwah to Kehra Gandoh, passing through Thathri, Khatana accused the trio of pushing the region into decades of darkness and division.
“The dynastic politics of NC, Congress, and PDP have created a legacy of bloodshed. These parties thrived on communal and regional divisions, manipulating the people for their own gain while neglecting development and peace. Their divide and rule strategy has left a trail of destruction,” Khatana said, adding that their policies resulted in unimaginable suffering for families across the region.
Thousands of families have been shattered due to the decades-long conflict that these political parties allegedly nurtured for their personal ambitions. Widows, orphans, and displaced families became a tragic byproduct of their leadership. Khatana emphasized that the people of Chenab valley, who once believed in these parties, are now fed up and ready to embrace the BJP’s vision for a peaceful and progressive future.
“The BJP believes in nation-first policies, not appeasement. We do not divide people based on caste or religion, unlike the previous regimes. The people of Jammu & Kashmir are tired of this old, dynastic politics. They now seek peace, progress, and development, something the BJP is committed to delivering,” Khatana remarked as the rally drew large crowds, which he referred to as a sea of people that crossed caste and religious lines.
The campaign has positioned Gajay Singh Rana, a leader known for his clean and transparent image, as the frontrunner for the Doda East Assembly seat. Khatana confidently declared that Rana’s leadership would script history in the region, thanks to the people’s growing disillusionment with NC, Congress, and PDP.
Accusing the rival parties of being responsible for the region’s backwardness, having stifled growth and infrastructure development, he reiterated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir would make their choice clear in the upcoming elections, signaling the end of the era of violence and communal divisions fostered by the old guard.
