JAMMU, Sept 17: Several new members officially joined the Congress party on Monday in the presence of senior Congress leader and Congress-NC candidate, Yogesh Sawhney (ex-MLA).
Serving as a significant boost for the Congress party in the Jammu East constituency, the event marked a show of confidence and trust of the people in the Congress party’s ability to address local issues and deliver effective governance. The new members, belonging to various backgrounds, expressed their belief that the Congress is capable of handling the pressing challenges faced by the people of Jammu East.
Welcoming the new members, ex-MLA Jammu East Sawhney emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in addressing the concerns of the people. “Congress party has always been committed to serving the people, and today’s inclusion of new members strengthens that commitment. The issues of unemployment, infrastructure, and civic problems need immediate attention, and we are confident that together, we can bring about meaningful change,” Sawhney stated.
He further highlighted the Congress party’s long-standing dedication to upholding democratic values and working towards the welfare of all sections of society. “The people of Jammu East need a party that understands their struggles and is capable of providing tangible solutions. Congress party, with its vast experience and inclusive policies, is that party. Our new members joining today recognize this and are ready to contribute to this cause,” Sawhney added.
The new members pledged their support, noting that they believed in the party’s vision and leadership. They expressed optimism that, under such able guidance, party would effectively address the issues plaguing the constituency, including economic stagnation and infrastructural development.
Sawhney said people of Jammu have constantly suffered on multiple accounts through the last ten years and it is high time to get the power back in the hands of the people themselves. Their aspirations and expectations have not been met at all by the BJP led governance and all their failures have been accompanied by a lack of intent to rectify or give remedy. Hence, there is no scope of redemption for them, Sawhney said.
