NEW DELHI, Sept 21: National meeting of Shri Guru Ravidass Vishwa Mahapeeth under the chairmanship of its national president and former MLA of Uttarakhand, Ravidassacharya Suresh Rathore, was held here, today.
The meeting held deliberations on the ongoing activities of the Mahapeeth across the country and the future programmes to be undertaken in coming months. The meeting appreciated the construction of the grand temple of Guru Ravidass in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, the foundation of which was laid by Prime Minister and it is going to be completed soon. The issue of the construction of Ravidass Mandir in Tughlakabad, Delhi, was also discussed.
Ravidassacharya Suresh Rathore, while addressing the meeting, said that Shri Guru Ravidass Vishwa Mahapeeth is a social organization of Ravidass community in India and abroad, which includes sitting and former Ministers of Union Government and in the States, members of Parliament- Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, members of Legislative Assemblies, intellectuals, journalists, advocates, retired officers, educationists, youth, students among others. They all are doing splendid work to spread the message of Guru Ravidass in their respective fields.
He said that the Mahapeeth is working to eradicate the social evils, strengthen the social fabric and reach at the doorsteps of the people to make a movement against conversion and make a strong society.
In the meeting, Ravinder Kumar, All India Sanyojak, Samajik Samrasta, was briefed about the objective of the constitution of the Mahapeeth and its working for the cause of the community, particularly its efforts to strengthen Sanatan.
The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Suraj Bhan Kataria, national organisational chief general secretary.
Balbir Ram Rattan, national general secretary of the Mahapeeth and the former Vice Chairperson, J&K, SC, ST, BC Development Corporation, shared information related to the programmes being undertaken in Jammu and Kashmir to spread the teachings of the great saint of India.
