Uday appointed IYC president

JAMMU, Sept 22: Former J&K Pradesh Youth Congress chief, Uday Bhanu Chib has been appointed as Indian Youth Congress (IYC) president.
The appointment was made by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) president. Mallikarjun Kharge today. Uday Chib was presently working as general secretary of Indian Youth Congress.
He replaced Srinivas BV, hailing from Karnataka State.
Uday Bhanu Chib is the second Congress leader from J&K after Ghulam Nabi Azad, who has reached to this position. Earlier, Uday remained as J&K state president of National Student Union of India and Secretary, NSUI.
He was front runner and considered as strong contender among the Congress candidates from Jammu North Assembly constituency, where his father, JKPCC vice president, Th Hari Singh Chib and mother, a former Congress Corporator, Rajni Balla have also strong hold. However, during seat sharing with National Conference, the party offered this seat to NC candidate, Ajay Sadhotra.
