JAMMU, Sept 22: Provincial president of National Conference for Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta today alleged that BJP plays divisive politics and spreads hatred among the communities for its vote bank politics.
He was addressing a women’s convention, organized at party office by Bimla Luthra, former MLA and State vice president of the Women’s Wing of Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC). The convention was held in support of the NC- Congress alliance candidate for Jammu East, Yogesh Sawhney, ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls.
Gupta lambasted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its hollow promises and failure to address the concerns of women in Jammu & Kashmir. “The BJP has done nothing substantial for the women of this region. Instead of focusing on real issues like employment, healthcare, and women’s welfare, the BJP remains engrossed in divisive politics and spreading propaganda of hatred,” Gupta stated.
He further criticized the BJP-led Government for its failure in governance, specifically highlighting not to provide jobs to the unemployed youths, lack of poor infrastructure, high inflation and the failure to provide basic amenities like electricity and water. “The people of Jammu & Kashmir deserve better. It’s high time they teach the BJP a lesson for its deceitful tactics,” he remarked.
Gupta outlined key promises from the party’s Assembly polls manifesto, including free education for girls up to graduation level, establishment of Women Welfare Commissions to address issues specific to women, Financial Education programs for women to empower them economically, comprehensive healthcare initiatives focused on women and children, marriage financial assistance will hike from Rs 75000 instead of present remuneration Rs 50000, special incentives for women entrepreneurs and skill development programs, etc.
The Provincial president urged all party cadres to unite and fully vote and support Yogesh Sawhney, the NC- Congress alliance candidate for Jammu East, in the upcoming elections, calling it crucial for the future of the region.
Bimla Luthra and Sapna Gill appealed to the women of East constituency to come out to vote and support of the NC-Congress alliance candidate Yogesh Sawhney, stressing the importance of women’s involvement in shaping the future of Jammu & Kashmir. “Women have the power to bring change, and we urge all my brothers and sisters to vote and support Yogesh Sawhney and help create a better future for us all,” both said.
