A blimp was launched into the sky with a voter awareness message, marking the commencement of activities aimed at encouraging maximum voter turnout for the upcoming elections scheduled for October 1, 2024. The event also featured a cultural program presented by artists from the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, which included motivational songs to inspire voters to participate on election day.
In his address, DEO Jammu Sachin Kumar Vaishya emphasised the importance of democratic participation, urging all citizens to exercise their right to vote. “This is a crucial opportunity for every eligible voter to contribute to the democratic process by casting their vote. Let us ensure a record turnout this time,” he said.
SSP Jammu echoed this sentiment, appealing to families to come out and vote together, making election day a collective responsibility. ADDC Sher Singh also encouraged all to dedicate themselves to strengthening the democracy by casting their vote and motivating others to do the same.
Meanwhile, ADC Ansuya Jamwal urged participants to actively spread the message within their communities and inspire others to participate in the electoral process.
Later in the evening, a similar SVEEP event was held at Amar Mahal, where DEO Jammu, along with other district officers including ADDC Jammu, ADC Jammu, and ACD, launched another blimp to mark the occasion. The DEO also assured that similar activities would be organised across the district to generate voting awareness.
This event also featured a kite-flying activity, with special SVEEP-themed kites symbolising the campaign’s goal of reaching every voter. Additionally, a cultural presentation by DIPR artists was organised, where they performed cultural songs and encouraged voter participation for the upcoming elections.
