Killing of Jammu-based girl in Nepal

JAMMU, July 3: In the much publicized killing of Jammu-based girl in Nepal, High Court today dismissed the petition filed by the husband of the deceased seeking direction to the Trial Court not to proceed in the matter on the ground that he has filed SLP in the Supreme Court.
According to case, deceased Romika Sharma was married to Sanjeev Kumar and on February 14, 2003 they went to Nepal where Sanjeev Kumar got appointed in M/s Rainbow Camera E-Pvt. Ltd. However, in the month of July 2003 Romika Sharma was found dead following which her family got FIR lodged in Police Station Hanuman Dhoka, Nepal and later J&K Police also registered a case under Section 302/120-B RPC.
On May 21, 2004, the case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
After hearing Advocate M L Gupta for the petitioner, who was seeking direction to the Trial Court against proceeding in the matter on the ground that the petitioner has filed SLP in the Apex Court of the country, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir dismissed the petition as not maintainable.
