SAMBA, July 3: The people hailing from Sandi area of Kootah staged protest demonstration in front of the office Deputy Commissioner here today.
Led by the activists of IDP from Samba district, the villagers including women held protest demonstration for about an hour and later submitted a memorandum to the DC Samba Mubarak Singh. They were raising slogans in support of their demands.
These villagers alleged that their land has come under firing range of the Army and they were not paid compensation. They said even several locals fell victims during accidents at the firing range but the concerned authorities never paid compensation/ ex-gratia/ relief to the victim’s families. They sought the intervention of District Administration in this regard.
