SRINAGAR, Sept 29: In line with its commitment to providing the best healthcare services across India and ensuring last mile delivery, Delhi-based HCMCT Manipal Hospitals, in association with Rehmaniyaa Healthcare, launched super-specialty OPD services in Shopian today.
A team of renowned specialists from Manipal Hospital, Dwarka (New Delhi) including Dr Suman Lata (HoD, Nephrology and Kidney Transplant), Dr Vikas Jain (HoD, Urology and Kidney Transplant) and Dr Hamza Shaikh, (Consultant – Spine Surgery) will visit Shopian on the last Sunday of every month to offer consultations and treatment. The OPD will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM at Rehmaniyaa Healthcare, Sheefu Arcade, near District Hospital, Shopian.
Dr Suman Lata said, “Kidney problems are increasing rapidly in India, largely due to poor lifestyle habits and co morbidities like hypertension and diabetes. Early diagnosis is key to managing kidney health, and regular check-ups are essential for those at risk. With this OPD, we aim to bring expert care closer to the people of Shopian, ensuring they receive timely treatment before conditions worsen.”
“Urological conditions such as kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and prostate disorders are becoming more prevalent, driven by unhealthy diets, lack of hydration, and sedentary lifestyles. Delaying treatment or ignoring symptoms can lead to serious complications. In severe cases, conditions like chronic kidney disease may require advanced interventions such as kidney transplants, which offer patients a new lease on life,” said Dr Vikas Jain.
Dr Hamza Shaikh said, “Spine-related issues among younger people are surging, particularly due to modern sedentary lifestyles, long working hours, and poor posture. Conditions like herniated discs, chronic back pain, and early-onset degenerative spine diseases are becoming increasingly common, affecting not only physical health but also productivity and quality of life.”
