Salary of Govt school staff withheld for severe lapses

RAJOURI, Sept 30: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri today ordered withholding staff salary of Government Middle School Kapa Kha for severe lapses in maintaining attendance, Mid-Day Meal register and other school records.
Even as there were only two students in the school, the information uploaded on the Mid Day meal portal was showing that 30 students were served Mid Day Meal.
The CEO, Bishamber Dass, along with ZEO Rajouri, conducted a surprise inspection of the school and found poor student engagement, and mismanagement of official records. Despite multiple inquiries, the staff failed to provide a reasonable explanation for these lapses, indicating negligence on their part.
CEO found that there were only two students in the school whereas as per the report uploaded ARMS Portal PM -POSHAN by the Incharge MDM of MS Kapa Kha on September 30, 2024 , 30 students were served meals.
Taking immediate action, the CEO ordered withholding of salary of the staff members at GMS Kapa Kha for the month of September. He also directed ZEO Rajouri to issue an explanation notice to the concerned staff and submit a detailed report within three days. Furthermore, he instructed the ZEO to rationalize the staffing at GMS Kapa Kha based on the pupil-teacher ratio (PTR), ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately for the benefit of students.
