KARGIL, Sept 30: The District-level Kala Utsav, aimed at promoting arts in education, was held today at the Auditorium Hall in Kargil, organized by the Samagra Shiksha Education Department.
The event featured prominent dignitaries, including Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Deputy Commissioner/CEO of LAHDC Kargil, who served as the chief guest. Raza Ali Abidi, Assistant Director of Information, Kargil, attended as the guest of honour, alongside Chief Education Officer S.D. Namgial, who was the special guest. Syeda Batool, In-Charge Principal of DIET Kargil, along with jury members, teachers, participating students, parents, and relevant officials, were also present.
During the concluding ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various stalls set up by students, praising their creativity and innovative presentations. Students from various zones of District Kargil showcased their artistic talents across multiple categories, including Folk Dance, Folk Song, Visual Arts (2D and 3D), Drama (Solo Acting), and Instrumental Music. A panel of judges evaluated the performances to select the competition winners.
CEO S.D Namgial delivered the welcome address, expressing gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for his support and commending the participants for their exceptional performances in diverse categories such as painting, folk dance, solo acting, instrumental music and singing.
All participants were honoured by the dignitaries, and the Education Department also recognized the judges and cultural teams who contributed to the event’s success. A total of 48 schools and 268 students participated in the festivities. As the event concluded, prizes and appreciation certificates were distributed to the top performers. Special mementoes were also presented to the dedicated judges and others who played significant roles in the success of the Kala Utsav.
