Election Official dies of heart attack in Samba

SAMBA, Oct 1: In a tragic incident, Ashok Kumar (55), an employee on election duty died after suffering a heart attack during the third and final phase of voting in Samba district.
The worker was posted at Nanga polling station in Ramgarh Assembly constituency.
Ashok Kumar, after completing his voting process by 6 pm, he along with his fellow officers reached the Deputy Commissioner’s office to deposit the ballot boxes in the strong room, when suddenly his condition deteriorated, after which he was brought to the District Hospital Samba where the doctor declared him dead.
Kumar, an officer of the Mining Department was currently on election duty in Samba.
The body has been kept in the mortuary of District Hospital Samba. After the post-mortem on Wednesday, the body will be handed over to the family for the last rites.
District Election Officer Rajesh Sharma expressed his condolences over the unfortunate event.
