JAMMU, Oct 1: Different educational institutions here today celebrated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and organised many programmes in this regard.
Government Degree College Darhal celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and organised a special symposium in this regard. The event was chaired by Principal of the College, Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza while Dr. M. Saleem Wani, Coordinator Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Convenor of Literary and Cultural Committee, coordinated the proceedings. Principal of the College Prof. Z.A Mirza and Dr. M. Saleem Wani enlightened the gathering with Gandhi’s vision for a modern, progressive and peaceful India.
To celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, GDC Kastigarh organized a series of activities like seminar, devotional singing competition, essay writing competition, slogan writing competition and reels making competition. The events were organized under supervision of Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, Principal of the College.
On Gandhi Jayanti, GDC Thannamandi organized an online quiz on the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. The NSS unit of GDC Thannamandi organized the quiz under the guidance of College Principal, Dr. Farooq Ahmed. The quiz was aimed to educate participants about Gandhi’s principles and values. Students from various colleges and institutions across the district participated and those who qualified got certificates.
