Bangladesh: Former advisor of Sheikh Hasina held

Dhaka, Oct 2: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch has apprehended Kamal Naser Chowdhury, former principal secretary and adviser of ousted Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and several other former government functionaries, media reports said on Wednesday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police have arrested Chowdhury; Mesbah Uddin, former secretary of youth and sports; Nazrul Islam Majumder, former chairman of Exim Bank and the Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) and Bashundhara Group Coordinator Adnan, the Dhaka Tribune reported. DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrests in Dhaka on Wednesday morning, the report said. There are specific cases against the arrestees, it added. (UNI)
