JAMMU, Oct 2: A team of workers including traditionally skilled ones are busy these days at Geeta Bhawan here making the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath for the upcoming festival of Dussehra.
Surprisingly this team of workers, from a village in Uttar Pradesh, has 10-12 Muslims, working day and night for accomplishing the task within stipulated timeframe for the popular Hindu festival.
Leader of the team Mohd Rehan said that the entire team of workers is from the same village in UP and they have two interests for visiting Jammu-firstly they get work and secondly they have a chance to visit the revered shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi to pay obeisance and get blessed.
He also said that every year they do the same work on invitation of Sanatan Dharma Sabha Jammu.
Rehan further informed that their effigies are transported to different places like Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, R.S Pura, Udhampur apart from Jammu city to celebrate the festival.
He also said that communal brotherhood is the root of success and progress of our country.
