2 Inter-State drug peddlers arrested with heroin

KATHUA, Oct 4: Continuing its efforts against drug menace J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Shobhit Saxena today recovered 200 grams of heroin (chitta) like narcotics at Parliwand area of Police Station (PS) Kathua, two Inter-State drug peddlers were arrested and narcotics substance got seized on spot.
Police said on October 3, an information was received from the reliable sources at PS Kathua that few persons were doing illegal trade of selling Narcotics and kept huge quantity of narcotics substance in their possession. They were trying to sell the same to the people of Kathua as well as the adjoining areas of PS Kathua.
Acting swiftly, a police team of PS Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua and SHO PS Kathua laid down a special naka/ checking at Parliwand Kathua and apprehended two persons namely, Shambu Nath, son of Baldhari Singh, Anil Kumar son of Dina Nath, both residents Budh Vihar West Delhi, police said.
Police said during checking 200 grams of heroin (chitta) was recovered from their illegal possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotics was seized and two Inter-State drug peddlers were arrested on spot.
A case vide FIR No. 318/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29/NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station (PS) Kathua while further investigation is underway.
