LEH, Oct 4: The MI/First Aid Committee of Eliezer Joldan Memorial (EJM) College organized an impactful awareness program on menstrual hygiene in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department of Leh.
The program was conducted by Dr Tsetan Dolker, Convener, MI/First Aid Committee along with members Dr Tsering Chorol and Dr Nasrin Tabassum under the supervision of Dr Sameena Iqbal, Principal EJM College, Leh. The program included informative sessions that addressed various aspects of menstrual hygiene, including the significance of proper menstrual management, the use of safe products, and the environmental benefits of using menstrual cups.
As part of the initiative, Shivani from Mogra NGO distributed menstrual cups to around 200 students, encouraging them to adopt eco-friendly alternatives to traditional menstrual products. This not only supports women’s health but also contributes to reducing waste in the environment.
Speaking at the event, Shivani from Mogra NGO, emphasized, “Awareness and education about menstrual hygiene are crucial for empowering women and breaking the stigma associated with menstruation. We are grateful for the support from the Social Welfare Department, which has made this program possible.”
The event was well-received, with over more than 200 students participating and gaining valuable information.
The MI/First Aid Committee of EJM College remains committed to promoting health awareness and sustainable practices among students.
