Srinagar, Oct 4: Principal GMC Anantnag, Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb, today announced that the operation theaters at MCCH Sherbagh will remain operational throughout the week to enhance patient care.
She made these remarks during a surprise visit to the hospital-which is under the control of GMC-noting that this move will help prevent delays in routine surgeries.
“Additional routine operation theater days have been introduced at the hospital to prevent surgery postponements due to the unavailability of theaters throughout the week,” she said.
The early morning visit was aimed at ensuring optimized healthcare services for patients. She inspected the availability of staff, stock, and other essential services on the spot.
A GMC spokesperson stated that the Principal has been conducting regular surprise visits to various departments at GMC Anantnag and its associated hospitals since the day she assumed office.
“This has resulted in significant improvements in patient care and academics at this newly established Medical College in south Kashmir,” the spokesperson added.
During the visit, Principal GMC Anantnag reiterated that such visits will continue to ensure improved healthcare services and that efforts will be made to strengthen staffing and upgraded infrastructure at the college and its associated hospitals.
She also expressed hope that, in the future, no patient will need to be transferred to higher centres due to a lack of round-the-clock specialized care services.
