Cyber Cell resolves 3 online fraud cases

JAMMU, Oct 4: The Cyber Cell of the District Police Office (DPO) Jammu has successfully resolved three online fraud cases, showcasing their expertise in combating cybercrime.
In the first case, a victim was deceived by a fraudster offering a work-from-home opportunity, resulting in a loss of Rs 77,000. In another incident, a complainant was targeted by someone posing as a credit card customer service representative, leading to an unauthorized transaction of Rs 50,127 from their account. The third case involved a fraudulent credited text message, which cost the complainant Rs 1,55,550.
Due to the timely intervention and their specialized skills, Cyber Cell’s professional team was able to investigate the cases promptly. Their efforts successfully prevented the misappropriation of Rs 2,35,583 out of a total of Rs 2,82,677. The teams demonstrated exceptional professionalism and played a crucial role in mitigating the financial damage in these cases.
