Nickel extends gains on global cues

NEW DELHI, Apr 24: Nickel prices extended gains for the third straight day by adding Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous base metals market today on firming global trend.

Traders attributed rise nickel prices to a firming global trend on concern that global supplies will be disrupted as tensions mount in Ukraine and Indonesia’s ore export ban remains in place.

Meanwhile, nickel for delivery in three months added 1.2 per cent to USD 18,600 a tonne, the highest level since February 2013 on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, nickel (4×4) added another Rs 2 to Rs 1,074-1,075 per kg.

Zinc ingot 119-125, nickel plate (4×4) 1,074-1,075 gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 432, chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 126, lead imported 124, aluminium ingots 148,Aluminium sheet cutting 149, aluminium wire scrap 151 and aluminium utensils scrap 148. (PTI)
