Shopkeeper held with 600 litres K oil

DODA, Apr 24: Police today seized 600 litres of kerosene oil meant for public distribution and arrested a shopkeeper from Malikpura area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandoh police station.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan told that on specific inputs about illegal sale of kerosene oil meant for public distribution, police team from Gandoh police station conducted a raid in a shop at Malikpura and seized 600 litres of kerosene oil.
The owner of the shop namely Farooq Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shaban, a resident of Malikpura has been arrested, SSP said, adding that the accused used to purchase the kerosene oil from the Government depots and sell them to the people on exorbitant rates.
A case under FIR number 27/14 under Section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered at police station Gandoh and investigation started.
