34 bovines rescued

UDHAMPUR, Oct 7: Udhampur Police foiled two attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 34 bovines.
Team of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Raghubir Singh, intercepted a Truck bearing registration number JK19A-6436 at Jakhani nakapoint. The Truck was carrying 28 bovines, which were rescued. Driver of the vehicle fled away from the spot after leaving behind his vehicle on road.
Police also seized the Truck and registered a case in this regard, under relevant sections of law in Police Station Udhampur.
One more bovine smuggling attempt was thwarted by the team of Police Post Tikri, which intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle, bearing registration number JK02BW-5086 and carrying six bovines.
Accused driver namely Abdul Latief, son of Abdul Ghani of Badoh, Ramban was arrested on the spot. In this regard, a case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Rehambal.
