Chana rises in futures trade as demand picks up

NEW DELHI, Apr 25:  Chana prices moved up by 0.98 per cent to Rs 3,104 per quintal in futures trading today as traders enlarged their positions, tracking a firming trend at the spot market on pick up in demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May rose by Rs 30, or 0.98 per cent to Rs 3,104 per quintal with an open interest of 96,280 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 29, or 0.93 per cent to Rs 3,164 per quintal in 56,780 lots.
Analysts said speculators enlarging their positions driven by a firming trend at spot market on good demand, mainly helped chana prices to trade higher at futures trade. (PTI)
