Advisor Pawan Kotwal reviews CPWD projects in Ladakh

LEH, Oct 9: Dr Pawan Kotwal, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, chaired a review meeting on the progress of various departmental projects executed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD).
The meeting, held at the UT Secretariat in Leh, focused on ensuring timely completion and efficient use of resources in ongoing projects.
Director Finance, Dr Safdar Ali, briefed Dr Kotwal on the budget allocations provided to departments for projects being handled by CPWD.
Emphasizing the need for expediting the allocation process, Dr Kotwal directed CPWD to ensure that all projects adhere to the set timelines.
He also urged departments to optimize the use of funds and ensure that developmental works are completed effectively.
Dr Kotwal stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and efficiency, calling for collective efforts from all officers. He highlighted the need for responsible utilization of public funds, ensuring that every rupee spent contributes to the holistic development of Ladakh.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Commissioner Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Dr Vasantha Kumar N; Commissioner Secretary, Planning & Monitoring Department, Dr Laltinkhuma Franklin; Administrative Secretary, PWD, Michael M D Souza; Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhdeve; and Chief Engineers from CPWD and PW(R&B).
Several other officials joined the meeting virtually.
