Under this system, pensioners are required to submit their details, including name, PPO number, bank branch, account number, mobile number and email address, to the Provincial Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries in Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
As per a departmental circular, these particulars will then be forwarded to the respective Treasury Officers the same day.
Followed by this, the concerned Treasury Officer will schedule a virtual verification with the pensioner through a video call on a mutually convenient date and time.
During the call, the officer will confirm the pensioner’s identity through necessary inquiries.
After the virtual verification, pensioners are required to submit certain documents electronically, including a PDF of their PPO (if available), a geo-tagged photograph, proof of residence, and copies of their PAN and Aadhaar cards.
“If a pensioner fails to participate in the virtual verification, reminders will be sent via SMS, WhatsApp, or email. Failure to respond to second such reminder may result in temporary cessation of the pension,” read the circular.
