JAMMU, Oct 10: MIER College of Education here today organized a two-day induction programme for the new batch of students enrolled in B.A Honours Psychology, Political Science and English along with those of M.A Political Science and M.A Clinical Psychology and Counselling.
First day of the programme commenced with registration followed by welcome address by the Principal, Prof. Adit Gupta.
Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson MIER encouraged the new students and motivated them to strive for excellence.
A video presentation showcasing MIER College was also shared with the students, followed by an introduction session where they got to know each other.
The event also featured various fun-filled games that allowed the students to share and display their talents.
Two distinguished alumni, Naman Mansotra and Nirbhey Khajuria, interacted with the students, reflecting on their academic journey at the College. They expressed heartfelt gratitude for the transformative education and invaluable experiences they gained during their time at the institution.
Jasleen Mohial, Coordinator IQAC, provided information about the mechanism of grievance and redressal and Dr. Bharti Tandon, Deputy Head, School of Education, talked about the functioning of the committee against sexual harassment.
The second day of induction programme started with a motivational session by Rupa Gupta, Jt. Director. This was followed by the introduction of the faculty from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Dr. Taniya Raina shared information about the responsibilities, expectations and code of conduct. Information regarding Digital Initiatives including College ERP, Google Classroom, Internet Access procedure and PI360 was shared by Prof. Mool Raj Sharma, Head, Centre for Educational Technology; Sanjay Chandel, Systems Manager and Palak Kapoor Sagotra, Manager, Chairperson Office respectively.
Day two ended with introduction of the programme and course learning outcomes by the faculty members.
