JAMMU, Apr 26: Strongly advocating for abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Front (JKPF) today said that instead of doing good it has harmed the interests of the people of the State by pushing it to backwardness and poverty.
“Our organization fully backs those parties which are for abrogation of Article 370 and vouch for complete merger of J&K State with Indian Union’’, JKPF chief patron and contesting candidate from Jammu Poonch Lok Sabha seat Satish Poonchi told reporters here today.
He said that those opposing abrogation of Article 370 are the worst enemies of the people of the State as they don’t want that people of J&K should progress like states of the country.
Poonchi said that Article 370 was a temporary provision in the Indian Constitution and it was said at that time that by and by it will erode. But some parties are exploiting the innocent people of the State on its name, he added.
He said had the permit system not been abolished in the State during the struggle launched by Praja Parshad Movement after Dr Sama Prashad Mookerjee the then All India Jan Sangh chief laid down his life when he crossed the Lakhanpur bridge, the State would have been far backward. It was with the removal of permit system that tourist and other trade got boost in the State with lakhs of tourists are visiting State every year easily.
Poonchi said it was the result of this struggle that today the next generation of the people from Valley who earlier used to work in different cities of the country taking ropes on their shoulders to carry goods from one place to another are now wearing tie.
He said the abrogation of Article 370 will allow the industrialists to comet to the State to set up their units which not only will boost the economy but also help in removal of unemployment.
