PDP’s roadmap for K-resolution is pragmatic, practicable: Baig

SRINAGAR, Apr 27: Former Deputy Chief Minister, Muzaffar Hussain Baig has said the PDP has a practical and pragmatic approach to the resolution of Kashmir issue and it has set achievable targets for it.
Addressing a workers meet at Shadipora along with senior party leader, Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari in Sunawari segment of Baramulla Parliamentary constituency, Baig said the PDP’s agenda in a significant way is a work in progress and action has been initiated on it way back in 2003. He said it would be revived after the 2014 elections with support of the people in Parliament and Assembly elections.
On this occasion senior party leaders Molvi Aabid Hussain Ansari, Naeem Akhtar, Molvi Imran Ansari and Yasir Reshi, also addressed the meeting.
Baig said there was the need of evolving consensus across political spectrum of the country to initiate meaningful dialogue with all sections of Kashmir including Pakistan to resolve all long pending issues including Kashmir. “The aim of PDP to go to the national level is to involve all shades political and social opinion in favour of Kashmir so that a broad consensus is built on the core political issue”, he said.
Baig said the PDP will play its role more vigorously to bring India and Pakistan together so as to ensure an everlasting peace and stability in J&K and in the entire region. He said the normalcy between India and Pakistan was must for the socio-economic growth of the people of South Asian region. It is vision of the PDP to lift the siege around Jammu and Kashmir that had imprisoned it after partition by closing all traditional routes of the State, he explained.
