KATRA, Oct 17: A vehicle smuggling bovines, met with accident here today, resulting into death of three animals and injuries to two others.
Reports said that a vehicle bearing Registration number JK14K- 0729, which was carrying bovine animals for smuggling purpose, rolled down from the road at Butan area in tehsil Katra. Three bovines died on the spot and two others were injured.
Locals rescued the injured bovines from the spot and also captured driver of the vehicle, identified as Mohammad Aslam of Balli Nallah, Udhampur, who was later handed over to Police.
A case in this connection has been registered at Police Station under relevant sections of law for further investigation.
