Jeera futures decline 0.84 pc on weak demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 28:  Jeera prices declined 0.84 per cent to Rs 10,630 per quintal in futures market today as speculators reduced holdings, tracking a weak trend at spot market due to sluggish demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in May declined by Rs 90, or 0.84 per cent, to Rs 10,630 per quintal with an open interest of 8,124 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in June traded lower by Rs 70, or 0.65 per cent, to Rs 10,765 per quintal in 4,302 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators following sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly led to decline in jeera prices at futures trade. (PTI)
