KISHTWAR, Oct 18 : Former Minister Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today visited the fire-stricken area of Mulwarwan in Warwan, district Kishtwar and met with families, who lost their homes and belongings in a devastating fire incident.
He listened to the grievances and hardships faced by the victims, who are currently living under the open sky, having lost everything they owned, including their homes, ration supplies, and clothing.
While interacting with the people, Saroori expressed deep concern about the situation, especially with the onset of the harsh winter season fast approaching.
He said, “These people are poor and have lost everything in the fire. The government must come forward to rescue them and ensure their swift rehabilitation before the winter cold sets in.”
Saroori assured them of his continued support and commitment to raising their concerns with the relevant authorities and said, “I am always available for the public and committed to highlighting their plight. We will not rest until these families receive the help they desperately need.”
He also made a strong appeal to the government to provide a comprehensive relief package for the affected families and demanded the compensation of Rs 5 lakh for each affected family to help them rebuild their lives, a government job for at least one member of each affected family, ensuring a sustainable source of income.
