ADGP reviews operational preparedness in Poonch

JAMMU, Oct 19: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu, Anand Jain, visited district Poonch today to assess operational preparedness and discuss key security and policing issues.
The visit included a series of meetings and interactions with senior officers, Station House Officers (SHOs), and personnel of the Special Operations Group (SOG).
In a comprehensive review meeting held at the District Police Lines, Poonch, Jain interacted with Gazetted Officers and SHOs, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and proactive measures in addressing any emerging law and order situations.
He stressed the importance of close coordination with intelligence agencies and adopting a people-friendly approach in the discharge of duties.
Jain underscored the significance of professional integrity and community policing, urging officers to address public grievances in a timely manner.
He highlighted the role of the police in bridging the gap between the community and the law, reinforcing the need to strengthen police-public relations.
Following the meeting, Jain conducted a darbar with SOG personnel stationed in Poonch, praising their efforts in combating terrorism and maintaining peace in the region.
He urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to security and continue their dedicated efforts in ensuring stability in the district.
Later, the ADGP visited the SOG camp in Poonch, where he inspected facilities and reviewed ongoing operations. He expressed satisfaction with the operational readiness of the camp and encouraged personnel to sustain their efforts for the region’s peace and security.
Concluding his visit, Jain inspected the Poonch Police Station, reviewing its infrastructure, crime records, and security arrangements.
He also interacted with the station’s staff, commending their dedication to maintaining law and order in the district.
