JAMMU, Oct 19: Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch is observing October 20 as a ‘black day’ across J&K UT against the Communist Chinese regime in Beijing as the People’s Liberation Army attacked simultaneously on Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh (then North-East Frontier Agency) on this date in 1962.
Addressing a meeting here today, Dr Vivek Sharma, president JK UT stated that China was waging an ecological war against India. It exploited the huge freshwater resource in the Tibetan plateau and diverted a huge volume of water from Yarlung Tsangpo, which affected the Brahmaputra valley civilization.
Aggressive Chinese forces showed utter disrespect to the rules framed by the Panchsheel Treaty, signed by China and India on April 29,1954. We want to protest against the assault over India’s trust by the Beijing administration,” Sharma said.
“ We will organise an awareness programme across JK UT and show the real face of China to the people. We will also appeal to the people of JK UT not to purchase Chinese-made items,” he added.
BTSM has remained one of the strongest supporters of the Tibetan cause since its inception on May 5, 1999 under the patronage of senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar. The organisation has been doing this protest near the Chinese Embassy for the past several years to remind the world about the brutality and inhumane act committed by Communist China to the Tibetans and its neighbouring countries.
Among those who addressed the meeting included Rajinder Sadotra, Dr Vikrant Singh, Vishal Sharma and Alok Mahajan. Prominent who present in the meeting were Rajesh Sharma, Rohit Sadotra, Niharika and others.
