Restoration of Statehood beyond Omar’s jurisdiction: Bali Bhagat

JAMMU, Oct 19: Responding to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s recent statement urging National Conference (NC) workers to “reclaim what has been snatched,” senior BJP leader and former Minister, Bali Bhagat asserted that no rights have been taken away from the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Instead, he emphasized that long-standing historical errors have been corrected, rectifying policies that once fueled separatism and division.
In a press statement issued here, today, the former Minister said, “What has been done is not about taking away rights but about rectifying the mistakes made by leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Sheikh Abdullah. These past decisions had pushed Kashmiris towards separatism, and now those wrongs have been set right. The policies pursued by the National Conference and Congress led to devastation in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the forced exodus of five lakh Kashmiri Hindus and the tragic loss of over 42,000 innocent lives.”
