JAMMU, Oct 22: Special Judge Anticorruption Baramulla Amarjeet Singh Langeh today framed charges against Bashir Ahmad Khan, the then Junior Assistant in Tehsil Social Welfare Office, Sopore, who was caught demanding and accepting bribe for processing case for providing benefit under relevant scheme.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “the evidence collected during investigation explicitly indicates involvement of accused in commission of offence under Section 7 of PC Act. Argument that since accused did not use his hands in receipt of money and only allowed the bribe money to be placed below his laptop and he as such be discharged is an argument which is bereft of both logic and legal force at this stage”.
“The accused is prima facie involved in commission of offence as such is chargesheeted for the same”, the court said.
