JAMMU, Oct 23: Acting on public complaints and recent media reports, a team of officers from the Jammu & Kashmir Real Estate Regulatory Authority (JKRERA) conducted an inspection of a construction site located in Channi Himmat today.
The complaints indicated that the building under construction is intended for sale and has a total area exceeding 500 square meters. In accordance with the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, it is mandatory for developers to register projects with JKRERA before commencing construction.
During the inspection, it was found that the owner had not registered the project with JKRERA, despite the statutory requirement. Consequently, a notice has been served to the owners, seeking clarification regarding the unregistered status of the project and instructing them to complete the registration process promptly
Chief Revenue Officer (Enforcement Officer) Sunil Gupta, Undersecretary Esha Chib, Naib Tehsildar Gias-ul-Din among others conducted the inspection.
