Sangam Group stages play ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kissan’

SAMBA, Oct 24: Sangam Theatre group, Reasi, today staged Hindi play ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisaan’ at Vijaypur, Gurah Salathian and Ghagwal in district Samba.
The play highlighted the impact of climate change and unpredictable weather on crops putting farmers to losses.
It was emphasised that Crop Insurance was crucial to mitigate unforeseen losses due to climatic fluctuations to ensure that farmers are protected and can maintain their livelihood.
The artists who performed in the play were Himanshu Darshan, Akram Khan, Nidhi Singh Thakur, Nia Chauhan, Raja Aamir Khan and Anabia Khan.
Play ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kissan’ also aimed to aware farmers about Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
It explained how to receive the policy documents physically, making crop insurance coverage tangible and transparent.
The play was supported by Ministry of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare (GoI) and was directed by Mohd. Akram Khan.
Officials from Department of Agriculture, Reliance Insurance and others present on the occasion included Mukesh Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Sachan Sharma, Deepak Bangroo, Y.R Sharma, Subash Choudary, Jai Krishan, Rajan Sharma, Bhupesh Gupta, Subash Choudary, Parshotam Kumar, Sachan Sharma and others.
The play concluded with the message that Government of India remains committed to ensure that all farmers have access to crop insurance.
