Karra reviews current situation, expresses concern over rise in terror

JAMMU, Oct 25: JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra today reviewed the current political and security situation with senior leaders and party candidates of Jammu region, in a marathon meeting held at party office here today.
Karra took detailed review of the overall political situation as well as each constituency level feedback about the organizational structure and the activities, especially during the conduct of recent elections. The party candidates shared their inputs and experiences of the recent elections.
The Chairman and members of the fact finding committee were present as special invitees in the meeting and noted down the feedback and suggestions put forward for strengthening the organization upto booth levels.
The meeting strongly condemned the recent terror attacks including the one Army convoy at Gulmarg area yesterday and expressed deep shock over the loss of lives and injuries to others. The meeting expressed grave concern over the spate of terror incidents after the elections and demanded evolvement of more effective strategy and measures by the full involvement of newly elected Government to counter the menace of terrorism and to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
The participants felicitated the PCC president over his land slide victory in the recent elections from Srinagar City. Iftikhar Ahmed who was elected from Rajouri constituency was also felicitated on the occasion.
The participants especially the candidates gave their detailed inputs about the conduct of elections and the organization affairs and extended full support to the PCC chief to revamp and strengthen the organization at all levels in order to make the party vibrant and stronger in the region.
PCC chief in his address said that Congress party is the only secular and democratic force to effectively counter the divisive agenda of BJP and the party is still a strong force in Jammu region having secured thousands of votes in each constituency although the final outcome was not in our favour.
He advised the party leaders and candidates to remain in touch with the grass root workers and highlight the issues of the common people before the Govt for their redressal. The party shall remain on the forefront to address the issues of common people and the congress shall remain steadfast on its principles and ideology. He said that the coalition govt and the Congress Party shall remain committed to address the issues and commitments made to the people with top most priority of restoration of Statehood with safe guards for lands and jobs, unemployment and Darbar Move.
