JAMMU, Oct 25: In a significant step towards realizing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Vikram Randhawa, MLA Bahu constituency, today inaugurated the Apna Hunar Diwali Expo, celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of local women.
Organized by an inspiring group of five women entrepreneurs-Kalpana Vinay, Preeti Mahajan, Charu Gandotra, Saher Tauseef and Gauri Shah-the expo is a testament to the power of self-reliance and local craftsmanship.
Hosted at House Number 16, Sector 8, Trikuta Nagar (Jammu), the Diwali Expo will conclude tomorrow. The visitors can explore a diverse range of stalls featuring exquisite handicrafts, pottery, bedsheets, paintings, suits, wooden toys, Kashmiri suits and much more. Each stall reflects the dedication and creativity of local artisans, fostering community spirit and economic growth.
The participating brands included Studio Kava: Featuring the creative works of Kalpana Vinay and Vandana Gupta; Paint and Brush: Showcasing the artistic talents of Preeti Mahajan; Saher Ki Rasoi: Offering delicious treats crafted by Saher Tauseef; Rama’s Kitchen: Presenting culinary delights by Gauri Shah; Muddle Pottery Studio: Highlighting unique pottery creations by Charu Gandotra and many more.
During the inauguration, the senior BJP leader highlighted the vital role of such initiatives in empowering women and promoting local businesses. “The Diwali Expo not only showcases our rich cultural heritage but also supports the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, which aims to make our country self-reliant by leveraging local skills and resources. By nurturing local talent, we can create a more sustainable and prosperous future,” he stated.
Randhawa also appealed to the youth of Bahu constituency to take advantage of the various centrally sponsored schemes available to them, encouraging them to become job providers rather than merely job seekers.
