UDHAMPUR, Oct 25: A 22-year-old woman was found hanging in Rehambal area of Udhampur today, police said.
They said family members of Nisha Devi (22) , wife of Ramesh Kumar of Rehambal, spotted her hanging in her room and informed the police, who reached the spot and took the body into custody.
“After completing the medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her family members,” a police official said.
He said that inquest proceedings have been launched to ascertain the reason as to why the deceased woman took such an extreme step to end her life.
