UDHAMPUR, Oct 26: Udhampur Police today arrested an inter-state narco smuggler, who was smuggling more than 9.6 kg poppy straw in a truck.
The Truck, bearing registration number PB06V- 2539, was stopped by a Police team from Police Post Roundomail, during routine checking of vehicles.
During checking, one plastic bag containing 9.68 kg of poppy straw like substance was recovered from the truck following which Police arrested the driver, identified as Avtrar Singh, son of Nirjan Singh of Amritsar, Punjab.
Police also seized the truck and recovered poppy straw. In this connection, a case vide FIR number 432/2024 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Udhampur and further investigation was set into probe.
