SRINAGAR, Oct 26: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Mohammad Zaid Malik, today stated that 3 to 4 militants were involved in the Botapathri Gulmarg attack, which resulted in the death of 3 soldiers and 2 porters.

Speaking with reporters, he said: “Before the attack, several operations were launched in Pattan Kreeri over the last 3 to 4 days based on inputs. As per the evidence we have gathered, there could have been 3 to 4 militants involved.”

He mentioned that the operation to track down the militants was temporarily suspended overnight but resumed with full force in the early hours of the morning.
“The operation is ongoing from early morning. Last evening, it was called off. Police, Army and Paramilitary Forces are present and the entire area is being searched from Baba Reshi to the forests of Gulmarg,” he said.
