J&K Clerical Staff Association holds emergency meeting to address pay anomaly

SRINAGAR, Oct 27: : J&K All Departments Clerical Staff Association convened an emergency meeting at the Exhibition Ground in Srinagar. The meeting, led by State president Babu Hussain Malik and Chairman Mohammad Sultan Mir, focused on the recent court order from the CAT issued on October 4, 2024, which addressed pay anomalies for the clerical cadre in J&K.
During the meeting, the association outlined its strategy for following up on the court’s decision. The leaders shared that they had recently met with newly appointed cabinet Ministers of the J&K Government, the Chief Minister’s advisor, and the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. The Ministers expressed their support and assured the association that they would address the genuine issues and concerns of the clerical staff promptly.
The association leaders emphasized the need for immediate implementation of the CAT court order regarding pay anomalies.
After thorough discussions, the members agreed on the importance of working tirelessly for the rights and demands of the clerical staff. Key issues raised included restoring two increments for SATC-qualified clerical staff, releasing pending Dearness Allowances (DA) and 2% House Rent Allowance (HRA) installments and ensuring timely payment of gratuity, leave salary and General Provident Fund (GPF) for employees.
The association passed a resolution committing to advocate for all genuine issues and demands of the clerical cadre with the Government until they are resolved. The meeting saw participation from members across central, provincial and district bodies of the association.
