SRINAGAR, Oct 27: FICCI FLO JKL, in collaboration with the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED) at the Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) Foundation, has launched a week-long financial literacy program aimed at empowering women students with entrepreneurial aspirations.
As per a statement, the program, inaugurated at the ICA Centre in Srinagar, will initially train 15 participants from a total cohort of 30 in essential tools such as Tally, Excel and Word.
During the launch, Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson of FICCI FLO JKL, expressed gratitude to CA Shailza Wazir for facilitating the partnership and to Prof Parvez Mir, CEO of CIED IUST Foundation, for overseeing the program.
Gupta highlighted the significance of such initiatives in enhancing women’s skills and promoting entrepreneurship.
Prof Mir outlined the foundation’s mission to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship within the academic community, stressing the importance of creating an ecosystem that fosters innovative thinking and practical problem-solving for future entrepreneurs.
CA Shailza Wazir addressed the participants, emphasizing that the program is designed for women interested in boosting their employability or starting their own ventures.
She detailed the broader vision of FICCI FLO, focusing on empowering women and supporting their entrepreneurial goals.
Wazir claimed the training will provide practical exposure to the latest business accounting tools and technologies, equipping participants with hands-on experience through advanced simulations and real-world software.
“This approach aims to prepare them for the challenges of entrepreneurship,” she said.
In addition to technical skills, CA Wazir underscored the importance of personal development, covering essential topics such as goal setting and the creation of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) goals.
