Five-day Rishi Kashyap Swasthya Seva Yatra concludes

JAMMU, Oct 27: The 10th Rishi Kashyap Swasthya Seva Yatra organized by National Medicos Organization (NMO) from 23rd to 27th October concluded, here today.
The valedictory function was organized at Trikuta Yatri Niwas, Ambphalla. During the 5-day campaign, over 200 doctors and other medical staff organized free medical cum health awareness camps in the border and remote areas across Jammu division. Total 96 camps were conducted under the aegis of this Yatra, benefitting over 6000 local citizens.
The Yatra, like every year, aimed to provide health services to the border residents at their doorsteps. In the camps, the locals were provided free medicines and free blood sugar and BP checkups were also conducted. Health awareness camps were also conducted in local schools.
NMO has been organizing health camps in J&K for the last 10 years under Rishi Kashyap Swasthya Seva Yatra, a unique and one of its kind events aiming to connect with people of far-off areas and provide medical services at their doorsteps. The yatra has reached over 1,00,000 beneficiaries over the last 9 chapters and the 10th edition of this campaign proved to be another feather in the cap of NMO.
Flagged off by the Principal & Dean GMC Jammu, Dr Ashutosh Gupta, camps were conducted on the 24th, 25th and 26th of October across the Jammu division. This year, the Yatra also included underserved local ‘Sewa Bastis’ in Urban Jammu wherein renowned local practitioners including Dr Deepa Hans, led successful camps.
The Rishi Kashyap Swasthya Seva Yatra was conducted under the supervision of Dr Deepak Kumar (J&K NMO secretary) by the organizing committee led by Rajat Kapoor (Vidyarthi pramukh) and Prarthana Sharma (IT pramukh) with support from organizations like Seema Jagran Manch, Red Cross society J&K, Jammu Sewa Vibhag as well as Sewa Bharti Gujarat.
Dr CB Tripathi and Dr Mukesh Nagar also contributed significantly in the journey.
