RAMBAN, Oct 27: A 35-year-old man, Mohinder Singh, son of Balwan Singh Katoch, died under suspicious circumstances after reportedly falling from an under-construction pillar of the Maitra Bridge today.
According to police sources, the body of the Singh, a resident of Failthy Maitra in the Ramban tehsil and district Ramban, was found at the site of the incident. Following postmortem examination and other formalities at District Hospital Ramban, his body was handed over to his legal heirs.
Inspector Vijay Kotwal, the Station House Officer of Ramban Police Station, confirmed the incident, stating that inquest proceedings have been initiated under Section 194 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to determine the actual cause of death.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to clarify the circumstances surrounding Singh’s fall.
