Seminar on history of ‘Dard’ people organised

KARGIL, Oct 27: A seminar on ‘History and Culture of Dard people of Ladakh’ was organised by Tiger Hill Brigade at Govt Higher Secondary School, Biama.
The seminar focused on explaning the social cultural status of Dard people in Aryan Valley and to understand their society, religion, political history, art, culture and the process of transition since partition. The seminar also dwelled upon various measures to preserve the unique culture of Dard people and promote the uniqueness of the Aryan Valley.
Renowned experts spoke on various aspects of history culture, art & language. Prof S K Mehta, Vice Chancellor of Ladakh University was the chief guest on the occasion. He stressed on the importance of preserving the culture & history of Ladakh and proposed to conduct such event in future as well in coordination with History & Anthropology Department of Ladakh University.
