Youth sets self, 2 cousins ablaze

KATHUA, May 1: Three persons were admitted in GMC Jammu in a serious condition today while seven others were admitted in District Hospital Kathua with 40 to 50 percent burn injuries after one of the cousins first dozed kerosene oil on himself and then his other two cousins and set them ablaze today in Ward No 2 ,Shaheedi Chowk Kathua.
According to police Sunil Kumar, son of Ram Chand who was having a dispute over a shop with his cousins first dozed Kerosene oil on himself and then on his two cousins Vijay Kumar, S/o Faqir Chand and Tara Mani S/o Ram Chand and set himself and his two cousins ablaze. Seeing the fire in the room other family members rushed towards the room to save the trio. But they were also trapped in flames and received 40 to 50 percent burn injuries.
While Sunil and his two cousin brothers received about 80 percent injuries and they were shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment where they were battling for their lives when last reports came in.
However their other relatives Pooja Devi, wife of Tara Mani, Krishana Devi and here husband,  Som Raj, Anisha Devi D/o Tara Mani, Ram Krishan S/o Buwa Ditta, Sunita Devi, D/o Tara Mani and Rattan S/o Som Raj were shifted to District Hospital Kathua for treatment.
The Kathua Police has registered a case under Section 309/427 RPC against Sunil.
