NEW DELHI, May 2: Zinc prices traded lower by 0.67 per cent to 125.75 per kg in futures trade today after speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July declined by 85 paise, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 125.75 per kg in business turnover of one lot.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in the May contract softened by 30 paise, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 121.95 per kg in 137 lots.
Analysts said the weakness in zinc at futures trade was mostly attributed to a weak trend in copper and other base metals in the global markets as the China manufacturing report added to signs of weakness in the world’s second-biggest economy and after the Fed’s stimulus cut. (PTI)
