Polling despite threats

Sir,
The people of the State have yet again shown their unflinching faith in the power of the ballot and in strengthening our democracy. Preceded by selective killings by terrorists in the Valley and the usual poll boycott, people defied such warnings and came out of their houses, remained in queues waiting for their turn to cast the vote.
This is an ample evidence of people rejecting the cult of violence and threatenings  in the Valley .  They have since realized the futility of the gun and the violence as a means to settle political problems. The turnout this time in Kashmir was higher than the last elections, especially in Anantnag  and Srinagar District.
Yours etc
Vinod Jamwal, Reasi.
